REFLECTION ON YOUTUBE VIDEO

Localizing the SDGs in ASEAN: Case studies

Hello guys ,Assalamualaikum. In this post i will make a reflection on video above.i took this video from youtube.Based on the video above, there are four scenarios from different country in Asia.
okay, let's go with the first scenario in that video. The first scenario that related with SDG is in Makassar, Indonesia. They use application Pasikola.Pasikola is effectively reducing traffic congestion on nearby roads in the morning and afternoon because fewer private vehicles are used by parents to drive their children to and from school.

Next, the second scenario is in Nongsan,Thailand. It is about private sector engagement and sufficing economy philosophy. They promote and show how to live like locals according to the seasons,if the tourist comes during rainy season, they can see actitivities like farming, collecting indigo plants and joining natural dye workshops. If they comes during winter they will have different experience like harvesting rice and hiking. The tourist also get to taste local seasoned food.So the project is proven that
will make more attracting tourist to come to Nongsan,Thailand.Which is can helped people within the community to develop skills and making the locals work more efficient. This also can helping the community understand sustainable tourism better.

And the third one is in Foshan ,China. This country has large population.a  higher demand for transportation can impact and pressure the environment.Every year, there is an increase in the demand for automobiles. As a result, they must deal with the issue of rising carbon monoxide emissions. So they use Fuel Cell Vechiles (FCV).FCV is good because they do not emit any pollutants and only generate water. This is very environmentally friendly.

The last scenario is in Pailin,Cambodia. It is about eradicating poverty by improving skills and productivty. In the past few years cassava yields and prices dropped in Pailin. Most of the farmers faced finacial problems.Afte that, they tried to engage NGO partners and cassava experts. So they sent their officials to training in China through UNDP,when they returned they shared their experiences and knowledge with the farmers.

Furthermore, based on the scenarios in that video.I can relate that with our surrounding in Malaysia.
if in Indosesia they used Pasikola, in Malaysia they are many subscriber of Grab car and Uber.Taking Grab Car and Uber is one way to ease traffic congestion. As trips can be booked via applications, passengers can be anywhere at anytime. Hence, it motivates more people to travel via e-hailing services and reduces the number of cars on roads.

Last but not least,Malaysia country also putting effort towards the implementation of SDGs.
in my opinion, one of the implementation of SDG (Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth)  in this country is government of Malaysia has establish Ministry of Agriculture & Agro -based Industry  (MOA).(MOA) is a government measure or initiative in assisting the agricultural sector or field in Malaysia. The MOA is also an initiative that has departments and implementing agencies under its leadership. MOA is a catalyst that always leads the transformation process in the agricultural sector in a more organized, integrated and comprehensive based on the sharing of thoughts and organizational energy to achieve its goals. The agriculture sector is also one of the contributors to the Malaysian economy through business.

At the same time, the MOA also provides assistance such as the Malaysian Agricultural Skills Training Program with the aim of encouraging the next generation to get involved in agriculture as skilled workers and entrepreneurs for the commercial and large -scale agricultural sector through the latest technology. This assistance is also provided by providing subsidies in the paddy cultivation sector specifically to the price of paddy, paddy fertilizer, the price of rice, paddy seeds as well as several other incentives such as increased paddy yield and paddy production. This assistance is said to be able to ease the burden of entrepreneurs, especially those who just want to venture into the agricultural sector.
